Kyojuro Rengoku (煉獄 杏寿郎)

Kyojuro Rengoku is a prominent character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, serving as the Flame Hashira within the Demon Slayer Corps. Known for his unwavering sense of duty, his fiery personality, and his unparalleled swordsmanship, Kyojuro is one of the strongest Hashira. He plays a major role in the Mugen Train Arc and serves as an inspiration for other characters, especially Tanjiro Kamado.

Appearance

Kyojuro has a distinctive appearance with flame-like hair—gold with red tips—and golden eyes that fade into red. His uniform is similar to the standard Demon Slayer attire, but he wears a haori with a flame motif passed down from his father, Shinjuro Rengoku, the previous Flame Hashira.

Personality

Kyojuro is highly enthusiastic, optimistic, and always smiles, even in battle. He believes in the importance of protecting the weak and upholding his moral values, which he learned from his mother. His strict training and discipline made him a formidable warrior, but also a compassionate protector, even showing respect for his enemies.

Techniques

Kyojuro's mastery lies in Flame Breathing (炎の呼吸 Honō no Kokyū), which includes various forms based on flames and fire, reflecting his fighting style's power and elegance. Some of his notable techniques include:

[1]First Form: Unknowing Fire (壱ノ型 不知火 Ichi no kata: Shiranui) - The user charges towards their opponent at high speed and decapitates them in one slash.
[2]Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun (弐ノ型 昇炎天 Ni no kata: Nobori En Ten) - The user releases an arching slash attack upwards.
[3]Third Form: Blazing Universe (参ノ型 氣炎万象 San no kata: Kien Banjō) - The user swings their blade downwards in an arc.
[4]Fourth Form: Blooming Flame Undulation (肆ノ型 盛炎 Shi no kata: Sei En no Uneri) - The user swings their blade in a circular motion that can defend them from all incoming attacks or decapitate multiple enemies at once.

Mugen Train Arc
In the Mugen Train Arc, Kyojuro heroically defends the passengers of the train from the demon Akaza, an Upper Rank 3 of the Twelve Kizuki. Despite his incredible strength and abilities, Kyojuro is gravely injured in the fight. Even in his final moments, Kyojuro remained steadfast in his beliefs, passing away with a smile, having inspired those around him to continue fighting for the protection of the weak.
